What shipped

Ship Streak turns the Daily Builds catalog into a Strava-style training log for shipping. It reads this site's own /assets/dailybuild-data.js, the same file that powers the Daily Builds calendar, so it updates itself every time a new build goes out. Tonight's build is in it too. At the top are four numbers: current streak, longest streak, this week and all-time builds. Below that is a GitHub-style ship calendar from the first build in April to tonight, with Monday through Sunday rows and weekends shaded as rest days. Tap any square to see what shipped that night. Streaks are weekday-aware. A weekday with no build ends the run, a weekend never does, and tonight doesn't count as a miss until it's over. The rest of the page has a weekly totals bar chart, a category mix that groups the catalog's messy raw categories into seven buckets, personal records (longest streak, busiest week, most-used category, best month, weekday consistency, longest break, double-header nights, first ship), and a recent activity feed that links to each build note. The week in review card renders any week as a 1080x1080 image you can download as a PNG or copy as text to share.

How to try

  • Look at the current streak card. It counts back from tonight through every weekday that had a build, skipping weekends.
  • Find the gap in the ship calendar between early July and August. That's the longest break, and it shows up in Personal records.
  • Tap a tall bar in Weekly totals (the busiest week is highlighted) to load that week's card, then hit Download PNG or Copy as text.
  • Scroll the Recent activity feed and open any build note from it.

Why this (vs neighbors)

This comes from the Startup Opportunities list (#36, "Strava for builders": track what you ship every week). The cheapest honest version of that product is one builder's real log, so this one runs on the Daily Builds catalog itself instead of made-up data. Earlier builds were tools for other people. This one is a mirror for the build habit.

Scope trim

No accounts, no GitHub or Git commit import, no followers, kudos or leaderboards, and no goals or reminders. It tracks one builder from one catalog.

Limitations

  • Streaks only know about weekdays and weekends. Holidays and planned days off still count as misses.
  • "Builds" means catalog entries. It doesn't measure how big a build was.
  • If the live catalog can't load, the page falls back to a snapshot bundled with the app (through November 3, 2026) and says so in a banner.

Suggested next steps

  1. Let builders paste their own log (a CSV or a GitHub username) to get their own dashboard.
  2. Add planned rest days so holidays don't break a streak.
  3. Add weekly goals and a "streak at risk" reminder on nights nothing has shipped yet.
